It is distressing to see how many people are fooled into believing that one can awaken consciousness in a healthy way through lust and desire. This method clearly contradicts the teachings of Buddha, Krishna, Jesus, Tsong Khapa, the current Dalai Lama, etc. I encourage anyone who is seeking positive spiritual enlightenment to look at the teachings of these Masters, along with others who proved the virtuous sincerity of their hearts: Eliphas Levi, Swami Sivananda, Dion Fortune, Rudolf Steiner, H.P. Blavatsky, and Samael Aun Weor. Do not be misled by the tempting serpent; to awaken positively, you must CONQUER him.

Kraig’s repetitive, formulaic sentence structure became worse than boring, for me, when he wrote about how to perform rituals. At the end of each ritual we readers are told that we “may” proceed to orgasm, and in the next sentence, if I remember correctly (I believe the book is in my basement storage area waiting for a yard sale), we are told we “may have multiple orgasms.” Oh thank you for your permission, Donald Kraig. After reading this instruction repeatedly, always the same sentences, I began to wonder what exactly Kraig was going for here… did he just not know what else to do? Was I detecting some sort of enjoyment of cold instruction on these hopefully warm and hot matters? Hmm. Laughing at this is about all I recall from my experience of the book. As a fiery-sea HPS who does not like to be told what to do, never mind when I “may” be “permitted” to do it, I’d instead recommend seeing if you like any of the following ideas:

Following your magickal bliss with your partner: in both your eroticism and your own unique spiritual path together, swim through it, luxuriate in it, it does not respond well to rigid forcing or pressure. Are you trying to force jello into sculptures? It wobbles away, right? Isn’t it more fun to swim through the jello?

2) A ready supply of superb chocolates and fresh, ripe fruit
3) Improving communication skills by learning active listening and conflict resolution techniques
4) Attention to the space: 100% cotton high-thread-count sheets and a variety (selection) of firm/soft high/low surfaces and pillows available for experimentation, aesthetics in surroundings which please all the senses, and so thoroughly that anywhere-everywhere the eye or body might touch, there is beautiful, magickal stimulus and symbolism

6) Staying hydrated (in general most people do not drink enough water and could stand to be more juicy)
7) Patiently, gently and carefully inviting the Kundalini to move
9) Slowly at first, then the magick picks up its own momentum

This is the first book to take the very confusing subject of sex magick and spell it out in simple terms. It makes sex magick a practical and useable system. If you have ever wanted to know the so-called secret of the 9th degree, buy this book. It will lead you down that path. The book is easy to understand, and takes a topic that has always been talked about in veiled coded launguage and explains it in a manner that anyone can understand and use.
This is a book that the secret orders does not want you to read. Even if you have never studied magick you can use this book. This is a great book. A fine peice of lititure.

As the owner of a Sex Magick forum, and a Sex Magick Practioner for many years, I HIGHLY recommend Modern Sex Magick : Secrets of Erotic Spirituality by Donald Michael Kraig. The book is concise, very easy to read and understand, written with objectivity and vast knowledge and the one of the best things is~~the rituals REALLY WORK. Three Thumbs Up! Raziel

Being a practicer of what some call “High Magick”, it was no surprise to me that the focus of this book was on the Highest energies that can be raised! Before i bought this book, and had read much of anything on sex magick, considered the methods of raiseing energy through sex as “Just another Way” of Raiseing it. I thought that the incorperation of sex into magick was just another way of doing the same old thing. However, the levels of energy raised through these rituals is astounding. I have only practiced but two of the Monofocal sex magick rituals, and the energy raised in them was many times that of the Middle pillar ritual, or the watch tower ritual ever was for me. I know, through these rituals that I can increase the level of energy a thousand or even more fold. If you are interested in learning about the energy this is a good book, which describes the channels in wich it naturely flows through your body, and with experimentation, one might even Empower such rituals as the middle pillar and increase the strength of there various soul/mental aspects with the extream amounts of energy. With the formulation of each spere, one might use the monofocal sex magick to “Have the orgasmic energy greatly strengthen the visualization in each instance,” which would cause each sphere to be embedded even more strongly in the person then if they just performed it regularly. Kraig gives much room and encourages experementation in this work. I thank him whole heartedly, for my control over the energies are now twice as strong as before, AFTER ONLY 2 RITUALS, performed by myself i might add! I love books about magickal energy and this is a wonderful book on how to raise it. Thank you once agin Donald Michael Kraig, Im sure your teachings will help empower all of those who listen, and take the first step tword self realization and enlightenment!
