When I decided I wanted to learn how to cook to help me, not just eat healthier, but impress the woman I am dating, I searched out books and found this one. I think it was a good start to my cooking education. The recipes aren’t too “out there” and difficult to put together. The text isn’t insulting in any way. (I saw other cookbooks that really play up how inept men are in the kitchen. It’s funny for the first couple of pages, but not so much when repeated.) I wasn’t able to pick out three recipes from this book and, I think, master them quite quickly. I wish they would do a follow-up. And did my cooking impress my girl? I think my effort was more attractive to her than the actual food.
I’m working on improving that!

a great read with a lot of interesting, sophisticated recipes. what i love about this book is the pictures which REALLY help. as a beginner cook and someone who loves to impress the ladies with my culinary skills, this cookbook is perfect for those special occasions. and yes, if you use this book and make the right things, it will lead to better things down the road. happy cooking.

The book was good and funny but the recipes are not exaxctly easy and don’t have a huge variety. It has really weird recipes instead of more common meals. But I like the traditional food I guess.
