I’m using this text this semester for an Intro to GLBTQ Studies course. That should tell you something about the slant of the included essays. There are many useful writings collected here, most of which fall comfortably under the rubric of ‘gender studies.’ The topics of intersexuality, transsexuality, and transgenderism are well represented. Some of the more traditional women’s studies topics and authors are missing which makes the text of limited use for introductory women’s studies courses. But a good read nonetheless. I’ll be interested to see what my students make of it.
